The Rosebud Center

Today, Camellia and Sparsha visited the Rosebud Continuum Science Education Center, a hands-on study in sustainability run by Professor TH Culhane of the University of South Florida's Patel College of Global Sustainability. At the center, students (high school and college) can engage in sustainability projects of their own design, whether that's working with a biodigester (creatively called "The Dragon"), raising tilapia fish, or making a hydroponic farm.

Professor Culhane and his wife live at the center, completely "off the grid," proving that the environmental concepts he teaches are completely achievable in real life.

The center presents a great opportunity for students to become more engaged with their community and the environment at large; furthermore, the Professor is open to any and all project proposals, so long as they're sustainability-related. So whether you're coming to visit the baby goats or perform a study on invasive plant species, the Rosebud Center is a gateway to further learning.
